Marine Canvas Training Workshops
My wife Deb and I have been in the marine canvas business for 34 years. This level of experience is hard to come by in the marine canvas trade. We have acquired a vast knowledge of quality canvas fabrication techniques that we wish to share with other fabricators. Our unique methods of fabrication have been featured in numerous articles for Marine Fabricator Magazine. Our Large Binder featured in the articles can be purchased here on our web page.
Our canvas training workshops are hands on and very comprehensive in scope. They are geared to both beginners and experience fabricators that want to refine their skills. We prefer to keep our classes limited in size to 4 students at a time. We believe this class size lets you learn faster and more effectively. Deb and I teach as a team, so there are two instructors in every workshop. Students will be provided with a very comprehensive manual complete with illustrations and photos covering every aspect of the workshop. You will train on Juki LU-1508N sewing machines and an Adler 867 long arm, all with powerful AB321A Efka needle positioning servo motors. These are the same machines we use in our day to day production. If interested in one of these fine machines please contact Sam Sloan at Sloan Machinery 603-893-8883 and he will help you in the selection process. We will teach you to pattern and fabricate high quality dodgers, biminis, enclosures and cushions that command top dollar and set us apart from the other canvas schools. We have trained many sucessful and profitable shops over the last six years from around the world in our workshops.
Mark Hood, MFC is a Certified Master Fabric Craftsman certified by the Industrial Fabrics Association International. You will learn with a highly qualified MFC teacher with 34 years of experience. This level of experience is hard to come by in our trade. No other canvas school can even come close to our volume of years creating high end fabrications. Learn from the best at Hood. Mark is a member of the Marine Fabricators Association, the Industrial Fabrics Association International and the North East Canvas Products Association.
